WEST INDIES vs SOUTH AFRICA PREVIEW

The Tri-nations series played out in a way that the last of the round-robin matches between West Indies and South Africa is now an eliminator with the winner going through to the final against Australia.

Hosts West Indies have had a couple of good victories in the tournament and have also been in their cause by the washout in the Australia-South Africa match. Marlon Samuels & Sunil Narine have been the Windies’ key performers. They’ve adjusted to the conditions at different venues and helped the hosts stay alive in the series. Captain Jason Holder’s injury comes as a setback, but he is still expected the lead the squad today. If Holder misses out, it will be up to Dinesh Ramdin to take charge in this crucial tie.

For the South Africans, there would be no bigger shame than not qualifying for the final. A team that’s ranked in top quartet and boasts of some exceptional ODI talents has only seen individual performances take them home in the series. Hashim Amla & Imran Tahir have been the most outstanding of the lot. It’s time their individual brilliance came together and culminated in a convincing team performance.
