WEST INDIES vs AUSTRALIA PREVIEW

Australia moved top of the table in the Tri-nation series in West Indies with their victory over South Africa. A victory over the hosts today would almost assure the Aussies of a place in the final. David Warner’s injury comes as a huge setback for the team from down-under. Warner fractured his index finger while attempting a diving catch against the South Africans on Saturday.

Their earlier meeting in the tournament saw the Windies yield easily against Australian spinners in Guyana. Playing at St. Kitts, known for high-scoring contests, should raise hopes in the West Indies squad.

Sunil Narine, with figures of 8 for 63 in the two matches at Guyana, will look to continue his magic even at the seamer-friendly St. Kitts ground where he has an enviable record. Australia’s Adam Zampa too has been successful in tri-series and will once again be the key to his team’s fortunes.

WEST INDIES vs AUSTRALIA STATS & FACTS

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc is 5 wickets shy of 100 ODI wickets mark.

Starc has four ODIs to take these 5 wickets. This will make him the quickest to reach the mark.

Australia’s last match at St. Kitts in 2008 was a record breaking affair! Luke Ronchi raced to a 22-ball fifty, the fastest in Australian ODI history, only to be surpassed by David Hussey later in the innings, who reached his fifty in 19 balls.

The Windies too enjoyed their last outing at St. Kitts with Dinesh Ramdin & Darren Bravo notching up centuries in a 91-run win over Bangladesh.
