Norwich City announced the signing of Steven Naismith from Everton. The Scottish forward moved to Carrow Road from Goodison Park for an undisclosed fee. He has signed a deal that will keep him at his new club for three and a half years.

Naismith, 29, has been a long-term target of Canaries boss Alex Neil. He is the fifth signing made by Neil in the January transfer window, following deals for Matt Jarvis, Ivo Pinto, Timm Klose and Ben Godfrey.

Naismith told the club’s official website: “I’m very happy to have signed because now I can concentrate on the football side of things.

“Norwich have displayed class in the way they’ve done their business all the way through. They’ve shown how much they wanted me, which is great, and I’m delighted to be here.”

Norwich are understood to have paid out around £8million to secure Naismith’s signature.

The former Rangers star scored 18 Premier League goals in 103 appearances for the Toffees, but has mainly been used as a substitute this season.

Neil said of his new signing: “We are delighted to conclude this deal and bring Steven to the club.

“He’s a proven performer at Premier League level and an established international with Scotland so arrives with excellent pedigree.”
