STAT REVIEW – ENGLAND vs PAKISTAN, 1st TEST Cricket by Team WSP - July 18, 2016 06:04 UTC England vs Pakistan, 1st Test Pakistan started their tour of England with a thumping victory over the hosts at the home of cricket, Lord’s. Misbah’s century in the first innings and Yasir Shah’s 10-wicket haul were enough for Pakistan to go 1-0 up in the series with 3 more Tests to play. Take a look at some of the key stats from the 1st England vs Pakistan Test – This was Pakistan’s first win at Lord’s since 1996. Pakistan have won 4 & lost 4 of their Tests against England at Lord’s. Only Australia, who’ve won 15 & lost 7 have a better record. This was Yasir Shah’s first 10-wicket haul in Test cricket. Prior to Yasir Shah’s 10-wicket haul, Waqar Younis held the record for the most wickets by a Pakistani bowler in a Lord’s Test – 8/154 in 1996, which coincidentally was the last time Pakistan won at Lord’s. England have lost 3 of their last 5 Tests at Lord’s. Yasir now has 86 wickets after 13 Tests – the most for any bowler after as many matches. This was the 21st instance where two bowlers have 10-wicket hauls in the same Test – Yasir Shah & Chris Woakes Apart from his 10 wicket haul, Chris Woakes also faced 204 deliveries in this Test – 96 in the 1st innings & 108 in the 2nd – making him only the fourth player to take 10 wickets & face 200-plus deliveries in a Test. Seven Players were dismissed in the 40s during the Lord’s test. There has been just one occasion of more players being dismissed in the 40s – 1989 Ashes Test at Edgbaston where 8 players got out in the 40s.
