STAT ATTACK : Rising Pune Supergiants vs Kings XI Punjab

RPSG vs KXIP - Preview

RPSG vs KXIP – Preview

With little bearing on this match, it is a fight to not finish bottom of the table. Pune & Punjab were the first teams to fall out of playoff contention. Their seasons have been similar – injuries, underperformance and showing lack of self-belief.

For Pune Supergiants captain MS Dhoni, life at a new franchisee couldn’t have started any worse. The journey from IPL’s most successful franchisee to IPL’s newest franchisee hasn’t been easy. Dhoni has struggled – with selection, with his bowlers, his batsmen and his own form. He would be happy that it all comes to an end today, but he would want to finish with a win, before reflecting on this lost plot.

Kings XI Punjab have never been the strongest of IPL squads, but they’ve managed to cause ripples. Not this time though. They managed one-off victories, but failed to convert those into season-changing wins. There have been reports of rifts within the team which hasn’t helped their cause much. They’ve given their owners a lot to think about ahead of IPL 10.
