Rising Pune Supergiants vs Delhi Daredevils

PREVIEW –  Rising Pune Supergiants vs Delhi Daredevils

With three more matches to play, Delhi Daredevils couldn’t have been shakier spot as they fight it out for a playoff spot. Three losses in their last five games, coupled with injuries has made the plot go slightly awry for Delhi.

Their opponents today, the Pune Supergiants, were the first team to trickle out of the playoff race. This perhaps makes them the scariest team to face at this point of the tournament. Captain MS Dhoni never failed to make it to the playoffs with the Chennai franchisee. If anything, he would hate to finish bottom and with nothing to lose, we can expect him to spring a few tactical surprises in the last few games.

Delhi will bank heavily on Quinton de Kock to fire early. The South African, whose last two innings ended prematurely to rough decisions, will look to swing the momentum back in the capital team’s favour. With Rishab Pant & Sanju Samson also among runs, Delhi will definitely want to win this with the bat.

Rising Pune Supergiants

  4. MS Dhoni’s 8* in 22 balls against the Knight Riders is the lowest in IPL sore made in over 20 balls.
  5. If Pune lose, it will be the 2nd time Dhoni would have lost 4 consecutive IPL matches in IPL 2016. In the 129 matches he played for Chennai Super Kings he has never faced this kind of humiliation.

Delhi Daredevils
