GL vs RCB – Qualifier 1 Preview

GL vs RCB – Qualifier 1 Preview

IPL newbies Gujarat Lions are a win away from a final appearance in their debut season. They face an in form Royal Challengers Bangalore team that has won 6 of their last 7 matches to finish second on the league table.

Bangalore, buoyed by an enviable batting line-up, have constantly outscored teams to finish in the top 4 from an impossible situation. Captain Virat Kohli has broken many records this IPL, but a record first IPL title for RCB will be top of his list now. As the tournament progressed, Royal Challengers Bangalore also managed to find rhythm in their bowling, bringing more parity to their side.

Gujarat Lions started out well, only to suffer a string of losses midway. A last gasp attempt helped them to top spot on the table. They are a more balanced unit compared to Bangalore and look solid in every department.

With a place in the final at stake, neither team would want to let slip, even though a loss doesn’t mean the end of the road.
