Real Madrid vs Paris Saint Germain: Champions League Football Prediction Recap

nacho

On a night when Cristiano Ronaldo cut a mute presence and Zlatan Ibrahimovic was unable to convert any of his chances, what can be termed as a ‘fluke’ goal by Nacho gave Real Madrid the win over Paris Saint Germain in this clash of European football heavyweights in the Champions’ League.

In the 35th minute, a deflected sht from Toni Kroos went high into the air in the PSG penalty area. An onrushing Kevin Trapp found himself out of position as Nacho beat him to the ball and struck a nice first-time volley into the visitor’s side netting. Now whether that was intended as a goal or a pass into the danger area is debatable.

The goal came against the run of play, as it was PSG who applied the majority of pressure in the first half. In fact if PSG had converted even half of the number of chances they had then they would have ended the first half with a lead and not down by a goal.

As we did mention in our prediction, Real Madrid did steal away the win in the end. In spite of having their fair share of chances, PSG could not make it count at the Santiago Bernabeau.
