Pakistan vs England: 2nd Cricket ODI – Prediction

[box type=”shadow” align=”alignleft” class=”” width=””]Prediction: England definitely have a chance to fight back. This ODI should have plenty of ups and downs. Seems, in this game of equal dents and chances, England may steal away victory from Pakistan by the end of the game.[/box]

Having lost the opening ODI in Abu Dhabi against Pakistan by quite a margin, England are desperate to respond. Andrew Strauss, the director of England cricket, has made it abundantly clear that improving England’s one-day cricket is a priority. The pressure on the England team is immense right now as a 2-0 defeat in the Test series preceded the defeat in the first ODI. England will be desperate to avoid a white-wash in their entire tour of the Gulf zone. The country are all set to host the Champions Trophy in 2017 and 2019 and want to build for those tournaments by winning regularly overseas as well as on their own shores.

However, they face a Pakistan side that is brimming with confidence right now and are unlikely to release their stronghold on the series easily. In the opening match their commitment to fielding was exemplary and they have set standards that they will be looking to keep in the second match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, in Abu Dhabi.

If they bat first, England need to assemble the sort of score that stretches the likes of Mohammed Hafeez and Shoaib Malik. Only then is Pakistan’s lack of batting depth likely to be exposed.
