Photo: empireofthekop.com Barcelona forward Luis Suarez has spoken of a potential reunion with Liverpool by claiming he would only return to the Premier League for his former team. The 29-year-old left Anfield for Barcelona in 2014 and starred in his debut season in Spain by helping the La Liga giants secure a European and domestic treble last term. This season, the former Ajax star has continued his stunning form, scoring 23 goals in 24 matches as the Catalans aim for similar success. However, the Uruguay star striker has hinted at a potential return to England – but he would only ever play for his former team. “You never know what will happen in the future,’ he said in an interview with ESPN. “If I was to return to England, it would be to play for Liverpool – not for any other team.” Suarez cherished a close bond with his former fans and admitted his relationship with the Liverpool supporters could play a big part in his next career move. “I’ve missed the fans,” he said. “The atmosphere is incredible, it’s incredible. “Everyone who has played for Liverpool knows how important the fans are – they know they will always be in my heart.” During his two-and-a-half years at Anfield, Suarez became a fans’ favourite when he formed a lethal partnership with former team-mates Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling. He notched 84 goals in all competitions for Liverpool before sealing a £75million move to the Nou Camp after competing at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
