India Vs South Africa – The Final Match – Our Prediction

Prediction: Fight in the end can be testing. South Africa have an edge over India. In the end, India may manage to pull the game in its favour, but chances are bleak. South Africa are well placed compared to India for this game.

The red soil welcomes the mighty two for the final contest. Humidity and heat keeps perspiring members of both teams. It is a common feature now. This is the grand finale of a tough series where the home team has been able to keep the trophy away from the visitors so far. The red soil promises turn for the spinners. Even with the new ball it’s a run fest for the batters. South Africa are 86 for the loss of Amla’s wicket. Quinton de Kock is as stable as ever. Faf du Plesis has joined him for a partnership and it is becoming strong ball by ball. Having won the toss, South Africa as predicted are in a better situation to pile up a huge score against India and then put them into pressure with their bowling attack. Indian batting has been covering up for its flaws with the heroics of a few players in the middle order, but a complete failure can pop up any time when the pressure of chasing a climbing run rate gets on them. With an average of sixty plus this series, Rohit Sharma can give India one of its better starts. Wankhede being his home ground where he has had many a prowess personified innings adds to some certainty.

The last ten overs of the South African innings may not be instrumental in deciding the fate of the game. They look like playing for a big score right from the first over. With wickets in hand, it makes a hard to handle equation for the Indians.

After long, the Indian batting line up can’t be trusted while chasing a huge total. The shuffles, the inconsistencies with poor shot selection, or still the early days of getting back as a team; whatever be the reason, but it fails to add any bit of the entrenched confidence they have had in the gone past.

This is it, the decider that may go one way if early wickets aren’t picked. The team with a firm first foot often wins. A mammoth score on the board will do that for South Africa.

They will be much at ease while defending it with their skilled bowlers, a variety of which we have seen this series so far. You get a break from Rabada and Tahir moves in. Even Duminy has been instrumental in slowing down India with his off spinners.

In the absence of Morne Morkel, Kyle Abbott gets his first chance in this ODI series and is known for conceding less runs against India. The middle overs along the Indian chase isn’t going to be a fun ride as well.

Dew does play a role in easing out the struggle, but on a bad day nothing comes easy.

To add to the plight, the red soil will turn more in the second innings.

This is a tough ask, but a time to prove the abilities so that you stay longer at this level.

Hopefully from India, someone will take the lead when they return to bat. Whether others add to the journey or abruptly cease it is something that goes into the making of a great final.

We will wait, watch and believe in what we have predicted.
