Welcome to our live blog for continuous updates of the final session of the 3rd day in the 4th Test match in Delhi between India and South Africa. Can Kohli and Rahane stretch India’s enormous lead in the post-tea session?

*All time-stamps are in Indian Standard Time (IST)

The bottom-line is that a brilliant unbeaten partnership between Kohli and Rahane have taken India to 190/4 and the lead has crept to 403. The Indian skipper is inching towards a century even as Rahane batted fluently to resurrect the hosts after they had been reduced to 57/4. The Indians will look to bat for about an hour before declaring tomorrow. There are still 2 whole days left in the Test.

16 36: The players go off as the day comes to an end. A day of attrition as the Indian batsmen locked horns against a disciplined South African bowling unit.

16 32: India 190/4. The lead has now gone past 400 as the visitors decide to take the 2nd new-ball.

16 30: Virat Kohli enters the 80s by cleverly opening the face of the bat. The South Africans looking visibly tired as the ball trickles into the boundary.

16 25: The light meter is out once again. But, the umpires are fairly happy with the situation. Even though the new ball is available, South Africa have not taken it.

16 15: Ajinkya Rahane reaches his fifty. A spectacular batting performance from the Mumbaikar who has dominated the South African bowlers with class and elegance.

16 00: Kohli is currently on 76 while Rahane nears another fifty. India are at 178/4 and the lead is inching towards the 400-mark.

15 45: Rahane dispatches a loose ball from Elgar as drinks arrive at the Feroz Shah Kotla. India are sitting pretty with a lead of 380. South Africa in desperate need of a wicket.

15 40: Kohli and Rahane have secured the first hundred-run partnership of the series. India are 161/4 as the boundaries are starting to flow.

15 35: India cross the 150-mark in the 2nd innings. Lead is 365 now. Classic Test cricket from both sides. South African bowlers keeping it tight and the Indian batsmen battling hard on a worn-down surface in Delhi.

15 15: Rahane survives a close call for caught behind. Massive turn from Imran Tahir as the South Africans seem to be shocked by the decision from umpire Kumar Dharmasena.

15 10: Morne Morkel has replaced Kyle Abbott. He has been mighty impressive today with already 3 wickets to his name. Can he break the partnership?

15 07: At 141/4, India are going strong at the moment. The lead has eclipsed 350 as South Africa could be staring at a huge fourth-innings target.

14 45: India 131/4. Kohli slices another boundary through slips. He is clearly looking to up the ante with a busy approach. Is he looking at a declaration before the end of today?

14 36: Abbott steams in from the other end. Is there another impressive performance left in his tank? India have reached 126/4. But more importantly, the lead has already swelled to 339.

14 34: 10 runs off the opening over from Dane Piedt. Not the ideal start for South Africa, this.

14 31: The Indian skipper begins the session with consecutive boundaries and marches on to 49. Will he get to his first half-century of the series?
