EPL Prediction: Red Devils look to continue good form against West Ham

[box type=”shadow” align=”alignleft” class=”” width=””]Prediction: The West Ham are going to be dangerous for Manchester United. Yet, an early impetus is expected for the Old Trafford Team. They need to go on with it. There are chances that they lose the plus to West Ham to enter a struggling mode. A Draw would be ideal as both teams pick up at different times. We would like to go with a stable Manchester United for this game without underestimating West Ham onslaught .[/box]

Manchester United play hosts to West Ham as they look to maintain their current position in the EPL.

The Red Devils have been pretty impressive under Louis van Gaal this season, winning eight, drawing four and losing two games in the EPL so far. They have specially been very tight at the back, conceding only 10 goals (the best in the EPL) his season.

United started off the season on a very positive note, recording back-to-back wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in their opening two fixtures.

They faltered a little in their next two games, recording a draw and a defeat against Newcastle and Swansea City respectively, before establishing a three-match win streak, following victories over Liverpool, Southampton and Sunderland.

Following a humiliating 0-3 defeat in their next game at Arsenal, the Red Devils have remained unbeaten in their last six EPL fixtures. And this has resulted in them settling in a pretty good position in the Premier League table, trailing leaders Manchester City and second placed Leicester City by only a point.

Now the Red Devils, whose captain Wayne Rooney has been ruled out with an ankle injury, will be hoping to maintain their good position in the EPL as they prepare to take on West Ham on Saturday.

Many have accused Manchester United of playing “boring” football like (Chelsea apparently did last season) under van Gaal this season, but West Ham boss Slaven Bilić insists that the Red Devils are just playing with a different philosophy.

“Somebody said they are boring, but I’m not sure why people are saying this,” the 47-year-old told Goal.com. “They’re keeping the ball, they are not a team who give you the ball and defend – you can say that this kind of football is sometimes boring. However, they have possession of the ball, they are controlling the game and they are trying to win every game.”

West Ham, who finished in 12th place in 2014/15, have also been very impressive this season, under new boss Bilić, who has helped the Hammers’ record some memorable victories against Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.

However, since their 2-1 victory over London rivals Chelsea in late October, the Hammers seem to have lost focus, failing to record a single win in their last four EPL fixtures.

The Spurs were especially humiliated after they were beaten 4-1 by their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the second last week of November.

Although West Ham’s chances of recording a win at Old Trafford are not very high, they will still be looking to get a positive result in this game.

Expected Lineups:

Manchester United: De Gea; Darmian, McNair, Smalling, Blind; Carrick, Schweinsteiger, Mata, Young; Depay, Martial

West Ham United: Adrian, Jenkinson, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Obiang, Kouyate, Noble, Lanzini, Moses, Carroll
