EPL Prediction: Manchester City look to bounce back against struggling Swans

[box type=”shadow” align=”alignleft” class=”” width=””]Prediction:Looks like a game with plenty of ups and downs. Swansea may start ordinary, but have chances to restore its equality in the game. No team is safe until the game is over. A last minute upset can happen. We settle with a Draw first and slightly in favour of Swansea as our second choice.[/box]

Manchester City take on Swansea City at the Etihad stadium as they look to reclaim their spot at the top of the EPL.

Manchester City

Despite City being brilliant in most Premier League games this season, they do tend to lose focus now and then especially if they are without their keys players.

That is what exactly what happened when the Citizens suffered a 0-2 defeat at Stoke City in their last EPL fixture. Without the likes of Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure in their starting lineup last weekend, the Citizens did not remotely look like the team that could compete for the Premier League title.

City could not simply cope with Marko Arnautovic’s movement in the box, Xherdan Shaqiri’s brilliance or the hostile atmosphere at the Britannia stadium.

Their fourth Premier League defeat of the season at Stoke has resulted in City slipping to the third place in the table, three points behind leaders Leicester City.

So City will be desperate to win their next Premier League game against Swansea so that they do not fall too far behind the EPL leaders.

Considering the Swans’ current run of form, City should be able to easily win this game. However, the Citizens will not be taking anything for granted especially after what happened at the Britannia stadium.

The Sky Blues will, however, be a little confident after their inspiring victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach in their final Champions League fixture, where they managed to make an excellent comeback and win the game after initially trailing 2-0.

Swansea City

Meanwhile, things are not so inspiring at the Welsh club at the moment, with the Swans recently sacking their manager Gary Monk, following the team’s poor form in the EPL this season.

The Swans, who recorded their highest ever Premier League position by finishing in eighth place last season, have been in abysmal form this time around, with the Welsh side only managing three EPL wins so far this season.

Four defeats in their last five Premier League fixtures proved to be the last straw for the club’ hierarchy, who saw no alternative but to sack Monk after the Swans 0-3 defeat to Leicester City last weekend.

Being managerless just before their EPL fixture against the mighty Manchester City is certainly not the idea situation for Swansea, but the Swans will be looking to show some resistance on Saturday so that they can avoid a nosedive into the relegation zone.

Expected Lineups:

Manchester City: Hart; Sagna, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov; Fernandinho, Toure; De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling; Bony

Swansea City: Fabianski; Naughton, Bartley, Williams, Taylor; Shelvey, Ki; Montero, Sigurdsson, Ayew; Gomis
