ENGLAND vs SRI LANKA PREVIEW

The third test of Sri Lanka tour of England 2016 starts at the Lord’s later today. The hosts would hope to complete a whitewash & kickoff their summer on a perfect note. The Lankans have only faced misery on this tour with an innings defeat in the first test & almost another in the second.

Playing at Lord’s comes as a respite for the visitors, who haven’t lost at cricket’s grandest venue since 1991. A win at Lord’s though has eluded them in the seven matches they have played there. With their batting showing signs of improvement with every passing innings, the Lankans will hope that they can finally throw a challenge at the English bowlers.

England have been solid. Their batting hasn’t got a much of look into because of the lethal spells their bowlers have put in. James Anderson & Stuart Broad have decapitated the Lankans in the two tests, barring the heroics of Dinesh Chandimal & Kaushal Silva in the 2nd test.

The third England vs Sri Lanka test might prove to be most evenly contested match of the series, but the Lankans have a bit of task at hand if they are to register their first win at Lord’s
