Chelsea’s best player for the last two seasons, Eden Hazard, is looking for an exit, the Daily Mail reports. However, the Belgian will not leave in January; instead he will be off in the summer. Where he will go is a matter of conjecture.

According the Mail, Paris St Germain are frontrunners to get the winger to sign a contract, but Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also said to be in the fray.

The Mail says PSG are aware that Chelsea are keen to sell the winger who has been a pale shadow of his usually ebullient self on the pitch, and will offer a “cut-price 45 million pounds”. However, Chelsea are likely to hold out for nearly double that amount for their player of the year two seasons running and the PFA Player of the Year last year.

An unnamed Chelsea insider told the Mail: “In his head he has already left. It would take some U-turn to keep him.”

Real Madrid to make bigger offer

On the other hand, the Sunday Times says Hazard will head to the Bernabeu this summer. Apparently, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez believes the playmaker is the “the ideal fit” for the club as a galactico, and is ready to splash the cash after “selling Ronaldo to Paris Saint-Germain for as much as £110 million”.

Alternatively, the Times says, Madrid could sell Gareth Bale “to Manchester United for a similar fee”.

Whatever the case, it looks like Hazard will leave Stamford Bridge despite signing a contract extension that would keep him in London till 2020.
