AUSTRALIA vs SOUTH AFRICA PREVIEW

In what has been a series of absolute equals so far, one team has the chance to surge ahead when Australia face South Africa for the third time in the tri-nation series. Going into the final round of matches, each team has beaten the other, making it two wins a-piece overall.

South Africa look stronger and more determined after their massive victory over hosts West Indies. Hashim Amla’s century & Imran Tahir’s 7-wicket haul will give the Proteas massive confidence going into the final leg of group matches.

Australia, coming into this on the back of a loss to the hosts, have been setback further because an injury to captain Steven Smith. Smith though is expected to play against South Africa. Even in the captain’s presence, the Aussies haven’t really been a fearsome team. Their last 5 matches have resulted in 3 losses!

The match at the Kensington Oval is the stadium’s first in over five years. Australia’s last match at this venue was the 2007 World Cup final which they won against Sri Lanka. That match also happens to be one of the 5 matches played at this in the last 9 years.

This should be an entertaining game with the winner edging closer to a spot in the final.
